Cape Cod

In her classic tribute to this sandy Massachusetts peninsula, singer Patti Page sang wistfully of "miles of green beneath a sky of blue." While the lyrics were penned over 50 years ago, the message remains timeless. Then and now, people continue to find inspiration in Cape Cod's incomparable scenic beauty and charming seaside character.

Year after year, people visit the Cape's shores to create lasting vacation experiences. Many come to reclaim cherished childhood memories. Others are discovering and falling in love with Cape Cod for the first time.

Cape Cod extends 70 miles into the Atlantic Ocean, surrounded by Cape Cod Bay on the north, Buzzards Bay on the west, Vineyard and Nantucket Sounds on the south and Atlantic Ocean on the east. The Cape's climate is temperate-not too hot in summer, not too cool in the shoulder seasons of spring and fall.

There are many ways to find your Cape Cod inspiration. With 559.6 miles of coastline, Cape Cod offers some of the finest beaches in the world, especially those along the Cape Cod National Seashore, a 40-mile stretch of unspoiled sandy beach in Outer Cape Cod. Cape beaches are also known for being safe and family-friendly. In 2005, Coast Guard Beach in Eastham was named one of the country's top 10 beaches by Stephen Leatherman, aka Dr. Beach, author of "America's Best Beaches."
